The Veil

"A poem is a naked person . . . some people say that I am a poet." - Bob Dylan

A Thin Layer

satin sheets
crumpled,

moonlight
shining down

reflects
on a smooth surface,

like marble
veins

pulsing

hearts beat in
unison-

an echo
forming
to lead blind
hands

that would
steal treasures

tucked beneath
vanity
